Fire Extinguishers
Supply, fitting, service and maintenance.
A basic service of all fire extinguishers should be carried out every year and an extended service every five years. A basic service involves a few minor checks and replacement seals, 'O' rings and tamper tags whereas an extended service typically means that the extinguisher is emptied and refilled with new media, (water, foam etc). Moveable mechanical parts may also require changing.
Emergency Lighting
Where artificial lighting is in operation within the workplace some form of emergency lighting is mandatory and therefore needs to be serviced appropriately in accordance with BS 5266.
The need for emergency lighting is an important part of your buildings Fire Precautions, if normal lighting circuit were to fail, would your staff or customers be able to exit the premises. Testing of existing emergency lighting circuits is essential.
Bulb Changes
Although bulb changes are not a health and safety requirement regular changes are considered to be a crucial part of any facilities program and can be offered as a service if required.
Fire Alarms
All fire systems must be regularly tested and maintenance is essential as it will prolong the life of the system and discover any faults that may occur. A system that is not maintained cannot be guranteed to protect life and property.
